Landstar Application Process

1. Connect With A Recruiter – Send Us An E-mail!
2. Finish the Landstar Application – After you e-mail us your interest you will receive an online application.
3. Verify Driving History – Landstar will review your MVR and work history
4. Provide Additional Details – Landstar will contact you for any related documents necessary to finish your qualification process
5. Complete Truck & Drug Inspection – Complete a DOT inspection and a drug and alcohol screening through Landstar-approved facilities.
6. Attend Two-Day Orientation – You will review our loadboard and mobile apps and how to effectively run your business with Landstar

Landstar’s Minimum Operator Requirements Include:

• 23 years of age or greater.

• Class A CDL (Class A or B for Expedited). Non-domiciled CDLs and limited term CDLS are not acceptable.

• Hazmat endorsement.*

• One year (six months for Expedited) of verifiable over-the-road driving within the past three years or two years verifiable experience in the last five years with the equipment you will be operating at Landstar.

• No DOT-recordable/preventable accidents in past 12 months.

• No more than one serious violation in past 36 months.

• No DUI in past 60 months.

• Overall safe driving record.

• No felony convictions within the past 7 years. All other felony and misdemeanor charges are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

• No positive drug or alcohol tests.

• Trucks and trailers must pass a Level One DOT inspection through an approved Landstar inspection facility. Tractor must contain a certified sleeper berth and must also be capable of functioning with an Electronic Logging Device (ELD). BCO candidates residing in California must be CARB compliant.

• Proficient in the English language to understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, make report entries, and converse with public.
